While Lang Specialty Trailer offers the same high-quality manufacturing in every trailer that leaves our doors, there are still several important trailer maintenance requirements to ensure your investment is protected. Depending on the end use, frequency of use, climate conditions, and trailer storage location you may need to perform variations of regular maintenance on all facets of your trailer.
Consistent maintenance routines should be performed on all restroom trailers, shower trailers, combo trailers, laundry trailers, and bunkhouse trailers. Not only will these practices maintain unit functionality, but they are also critical to ensuring that the unit(s) can be safely towed to the destination, set up safely, and eliminate any potential accidental injury when in place. Inspection of all exterior lights, reflectors, railings, stairs, hitches, and tires can avoid costly tickets or potential damage to your trailer when relocating.
Much like any other outdoor trailer or vehicle, regular cleaning, waxing, and polishing prevents damaging rust or corrosion from setting in and impacting the construction and appearance of your trailer. We recommend thoroughly spraying the trailer with water to remove any dirt, grime, or particulate matter before hand-cleaning as small debris can scratch the exterior finish.
Some trailer maintenance practices, like charging the waste tank (when applicable), should be implemented before each event. This will keep your tank clean and odor-free when in use. While a full cleaning, or flushing, of the waste tank, is not necessary after each use, both the waste tank and freshwater tanks should be pumped and drained before moving the trailer.
If a trailer is being stored for the winter in an area exposed to the elements or being used in a cold climate, you must winterize your unit to prevent water lines and waste tanks from freezing and causing unneeded damage.
